By quickly implementing water cooled chiller hire, HVAC rentals were able to help a multi-use building based in Air Street- London regain full operations.  HVAC rentals designed and installed a temporary district cooling network inclusive of pump, PHE and water cooled chiller management.  The building required cooling for its multiple offices, hotel, and onsite retail complex.  Due to its existing district cooling network failure, the client required an urgent cooling solution. 

By getting in touch with HVAC rentals they were quickly able to find a speedy water cooled chiller hire solution.  This involved using rental equipment to take the load of retail, hotel and office infrastructure.

As the sites water cooled chillers were located at basement level -3, HVAC rentals designed, fabricated and installed a temporary steel riser.  This ran from the ground level to the basement.  This involved structural, mechanical and design validations all completed by our in-house team.  Thus enabling full and safe use of a hire water cooled chiller.

Using specialist core drilling contractors, we drilled a series of pre-planned holes to allow the temporary riser to penetrate from the ground level to the basements existing water cooled chillers location.  A rental water cooled chiller was craned and mechanically moved into place within the loading bay.  This involved using around 250M of rental pipework installed to connect the riser, chillers pumps, as well as the rental water-cooled chiller.  The water cooled chiller hire was organised and installed by the HVAC rentals team within a speedy timeframe.

Once mechanically connected, our team completed an electrical validation running a temporary power supply from the existing power supply. The overall hire chiller package was able to provide over 2000KW of cooling subject to system conditions.
