The London Hotel’s objectives for getting emergency air conditioning rental:-
To provide immediate and effective cooling to the reception area; As the reception is the first impression to guests and clients, it can often set a vibe for their stay. As the standard etiquette for the hotel included greetings with a cold beverage and a treat, the hotel was renowned for its exceptional hospitality. Hence having a comfortable temperature within the reception was customary and to be expected.Â
Ensure any HVAC issue was kept discreet as possible, and to keep the hotel running seamlessly. Whilst issues with air conditioning systems can be understandable during heat waves in the UK, this was not within the standards of this hotel. Luckily they had identified that their air conditioning was not working very early in the day, but with every passing hour the temperature inside the reception and foyer was rising. The London hotel’s management decided the best option was to get emergency air conditioning rental whilst any diagnostics and repair works were carried out.Â
To prevent possible other issues happening to their existing central air conditioning system – As by isolating the entire ground floor, meant the rooms could still maintain cooling. There was a worry that heat rising from the ground floor would put extra load on their HVAC system, which was at the time unstable.Â

Upon the hotel’s enquiry, HVAC Rentals were quick to respond via a phone call, to confirm the cooling requirements, as well understand the layout of the reception/foyer and the restaurant. The considerations for emergency air conditioning rental were:Â
Portable air conditioning splits rental units – High performing split air con units was a strong consideration, as they are very quick to install, and can cool a large area effectively and efficiently. As the 7kW portable split air conditioning units are on wheels they are very easy to move, and fairly low in noise. As the hotel’s reception was on the ground floor and had a fenced off area outside only accessible by staff, there was a practical discreet location for the outside unit. This was in close vicinity to a good location for the portable split air con indoor unit which would have been located close to the front desk on the adjoining wall.Â
Portable air conditioning units – Excellent for portability, quick cooling and efficiency. The portable air con units were the obvious choice for emergency air conditioning hire. However, thought was needed to ensure a practical location where it would also vent the hot air outside via the hose.
No Vent Cooler units – Also fully portable, these units provide powerful cooling and airflow without the necessity for venting heat via a hose or vent. This was also a strong consideration, to supplement either a portable air conditioner split unit or portable air conditioning unit.Â
Conclusion
Due to the layout of the reception/foyer and the adjoining restaurant, it was decided that for the reception/foyer there would be 1 x portable air conditioning split unit in conjunction with 2 x no vent cooler units as this would be effective in cooling the area. The no vent coolers were strategically placed to optimise air flow throughout the entire reception/foyer.Â
In addition to the no vent coolers and split air con unit rental, they also opted for 2 x portable air conditioning units for the restaurant. The units were placed either end of the room, as there was the ability to vent through close-by windows. Â
The 5 portable air conditioning units were dispatched from HVAC Rentals straight away, arriving within 4 hours of the central London Hotel’s enquiry for emergency air conditioning hire. Although the hotel opted for an initial 4 week rental period, they were given the option to easily extend the period incrementally. This allowed them to ensure the temperature within the hotel reception/foyer was comfortable for welcoming guests. Furthermore, the restaurant was still able to fully operate and serve guests without any disruptions. Â
